HI,
I just purchased a windows 2003 web edition server. I opened IIS Admin and clicked on the server name. Interestingly it isnt showing anything in it.

I had this as well, I bet you got a bad mirror as well. This is what I did to fix it.

Add and Remove programs > Windows compents

Remove Application Server.

Say ok. Now, go back to windows compents and readd Windows Application compents you want to run.

It appears that the mirror they used for a batch has windows showing its installed, but if you look at event log it says it can't start IIS because of missing dlls. Which means it wasn't installed really.

It looks like this has happened to me as well. I've removed the components and re-added the IIS bits and bobs, but now the server wants the CD-ROM to continue - d'oh!

Trouble ticket submitted..

They copy the i386 from the CD onto your C drive. Just change the drive letter to c:

I've received confirmation of that by techsupport and that certainly did the trick - IIS 6 back up and running as I was expecting it to be icon_smile.gif
