Full Version: Front Page Won't Install [ REWARD ]

I have been looking for 2 days to the fix for this and not finding it. I (now) have a brand new cPanel server, I've upgraded to the latest cPanel and Kernel, but I have a problem with Front Page extensions. When I try to install FrontPage on any site in the server I get the following error:

Using Frontpage 5.x!
Note: Local version of Apache must use the FrontPage Apache patch.
Starting install, port: 80.

Creating web http://www.fp.shanelambert.com.
No such file or directory

Removing and recreating the extensions and/or site doesn't work. I have tried countless things and nothing has worked.

Also, a trouble ticket to EV1 servers opened nearly two days ago has gone unanswered so I am lost. I have already lost two customers over this issue and I need to know how to fix it! Any help would be appreciated!

Also, there is a reward for this help - whoever knows how to fix this problem and gives me tips that work will be rewarded with CASH - you heard me - CASH. So if you know, PLEASE RESPOND!

What os are you running? (cat /etc/redhat-release)

What version of frontpage do you have installed? (rpm -q frontpage)
dynasyn
Red Hat Linux release 9 (Shrike)
frontpage-5.1-1

Hope you can help...
bdraco
That all looks good.

Make sure the your md5sum is correct

# md5sum /usr/local/frontpage/version5.0/bin/owsadm.exe
a6e445ec4a5332c93187c2dd080f1086 /usr/local/frontpage/version5.0/bin/owsadm.exe
dynasyn
Well, I get:

a43c28c89f7768565ca73f745da58201 /usr/local/frontpage/version5.0/bin/owsadm.exe

Any idea how I can fix this?
bdraco
chattr -R -i /usr/local/frontpage
rpm -e frontpage
/scripts/updatenow
/scripts/updatefrontpage

The above commands will reinstall frontpage.
dynasyn
YES! That did it, thank you. As I stated there will be a reward - where do you want me to send your cash? (PayPal is a possibility if you have an account). You can send me a private e-mail so others don't know this stuff.

bdraco is the (or maybe one of the) original authors of cPanel.

Doesn't matter to me - EV1 Servers and cPanel tech guys couldn't fix it and this guy could - so the reward stands. He saved me losing a lot of customers so I am more then willing to pay for it. Thanks for the heads up though.

I'm just happy to help .. no reward needed. If you submitted a ticket to cPanel on this, please email me the number at nick@cpanel.net so I can track down why the problem was not solved for you.

I am getting an Error trying to install FP on an account.

Using Frontpage 5.x!

Starting install, port: 80.

Error: Unable to create a web for the URL "/" because its root directory, "/home/mtbpoaxx/public_html/", falls below the root of another web in the directory "/home/mtbpoaxx".

I checked my MD5 and its the same as bdraco's.

Any Idea how i can fix this?

THANK YOU!! I searched all over the cpanel forums and could not find the answer to my problem, this fixed it right away (there were plenty of suggestions on the cpanel forums but none of them ended up working) Thanks again.
