I keep getting a lot of these errors in my /usr/local/psa/var/log/maillog.

I have ran qmailclear and qmHandle -D multiple times but the error still continues.

Any thoughts?

How many messages do you have in queue?

The queue is empty. Other emails are getting through fine - no problems but I still keep seeing:

Feb 3 10:00:57 (server) qmail: 1075777257.215132 warning: trouble opening remote/8/442620; will try again later

In the: /usr/local/psa/var/log/maillog

Any idea's?

My best bet is that the queue is corrupted. Most likely a file was deleted manually. Try qmail-queuefix.

I used queue-repair-0.9.0 and ran a 'repair' on the queue. It resolved the problem. I must have forgotten to stop qmail before deleting something last time...

I have been using the qmailclear.sh script to clear the queue on occasion. It does not seem to stop qmail before running so I have modified the script to run /etc/init.d/qmail stop before running and /etc/init.d/qmail start once it has compeleted.

Does that sound ok?

Yes, you must stop qmail in order to repair the queue.
