OK, here's the situation, 2 days ago, I put in for a memory upgrade... Of course everything that could possibly go wrong since, has. They wrote back, said I needed a Kernel Upgrade. I did it. They attempted the upgrade again, and broke the box. I put in for a restore, now the old drive is in as a slave, and the new one is running Plesk 6 on Redhat 9. Lucky thing is, when I upgraded the Kernel, I ran the Plesk Backup Utility, and I have Dump1, as per Nighthawk's How to on it. Now I cannot seem to get it restored from Dump1. The EXTREMELY crucial domains that needed to be put up, are. It's already cost one of my clients over 1k in business, they're one of the ones that are up, sort of. Their E-Mails aren't up, and the Message board that was running on that site isn't up yet, either.

In order to get the domains up that I have, I simply copied them over from the old HD. Ideally, I would just run the Restore from the back up, and voila, everything would be cool, but it's not. So if I could get some help as far as how to run the restore so it works, and/or do everything MANUALLY, I'll need some extensive how tos on both moving Mysql DBs, and email accounts. One of the things that I've run into when attempting the restore is that mailman is not installed. It's my understanding that mailman just manages email lists, which I have none on any of my domains. I've lurked A LOT on this forum, and I know that everyone is very helpful, and this is an awesome community. I really need some help, here folks. I don't have a lot of money, otherwise I would just pay to have it done. Help me, Please icon_sad.gif

I would also like to thank all of the EV1 Tech support guys that have been so crucial in getting at least the 2 domains operational. You've gone way beyond the call of duty, and I'm extremely grateful for everything.

First of all why you dont hire someone if you cant fix it ? If you have customer giving lot of $$$ you should be better to pay a sys admin in place of getting downtime for day's ... :confused:

your post is not very clear...

Do you have a good backup buil whit psabackup ?

Is plesk is already installed on your restore ?
Thomas12
Yes, Plesk is already installed on the new drive. At this point I wouldn't be oposed to doing that. Can you do it? PM me if you're interested.

Yes, I have a backup, in the form of /old/dump1/dump.aa

Although to be clear, I'm not getting paid a whole lot to manage the server, barely enough to cover the cost of the server. The rest of the domains are personal/voluntary projects. I've looked into some temporary server management stuff, but it all seems WAY out of my price range.

I dont realy like to play on server that is not mine
If you really stuck may be i can do some help but...

Try to restore since your plesk is installed then you have a backup ...

Make sure the backup util are installed then ;

ex:

/usr/local/psa/bin/psarestore -f /mybackup/dump* -m /mybackup/ipfile -s /backup/shellfile

Replace mybackup for your dir.

this will create IP map file & shell file needed for restoring..

Are you on the same server, same IP ?
