Ok, I have two quick questions...
1. With the W32.Novarg.A@mm sending me over 1000 e-mails today, I started thinking, and for many of you this may b a stupid question...
Is there an affordable anti-virus software solution that can be installed at the server level so viruses are deleted, before they are downloaded?
2. Is there a way to backup my server to a local external hard drive at my home? If so, how?
Thanks in advance.

1. MailScanner + ClamAV layer1.cpanel.net has an autoinstaller you can wget. Runs with no configuration, but you will probably want to change a few things, most likely at a minimum the email notification, at least until this latest worm issue.
2. CPanel Backup, using "Ftp Backup Host (Remote Ftp Backup Only)"

Yes, Clam AV and Mailscanner are the best way to go.
There is a how-to in here somewhere on how to install them.
Make sure you follow it to the letter, otherwise it could cause exim problems later on!

Greetings:
We've been using Clam Antivirus (
http://www.clamav.net/) for a period of time; and it has worked without flaw.
It is free; and updates come out on a regular basis. By setting up the updates in cron, you can be protected automatically when new virus definitions come out.
Thank you.

One more question about the autoinstaller before I just jump into this since I am still kinda new to all this what options did you give install when you ran it. These are the options it gives upon running install --help. Any suggestions and Thanks for the help.
Usage: install [OPTION]... SOURCE DEST (1st format)
or: install [OPTION]... SOURCE... DIRECTORY (2nd format)
or: install -d [OPTION]... DIRECTORY... (3rd format)
In the first two formats, copy SOURCE to DEST or multiple SOURCE(s) to
the existing DIRECTORY, while setting permission modes and owner/group.
In the third format, create all components of the given DIRECTORY(ies).
Mandatory arguments to long options are mandatory for short options too.
--backup[=CONTROL] make a backup of each existing destination file
-b like --backup but does not accept an argument
-c (ignored)
-d, --directory treat all arguments as directory names; create all
components of the specified directories
-D create all leading components of DEST except the last,
then copy SOURCE to DEST; useful in the 1st format
-g, --group=GROUP set group ownership, instead of process' current group
-m, --mode=MODE set permission mode (as in chmod), instead of rwxr-xr-x
-o, --owner=OWNER set ownership (super-user only)
-p, --preserve-timestamps apply access/modification times of SOURCE files
to corresponding destination files
-s, --strip strip symbol tables, only for 1st and 2nd formats
-S, --suffix=SUFFIX override the usual backup suffix
-v, --verbose print the name of each directory as it is created
--help display this help and exit
--version output version information and exit
The backup suffix is `~', unless set with --suffix or SIMPLE_BACKUP_SUFFIX.
The version control method may be selected via the --backup option or through
the VERSION_CONTROL environment variable. Here are the values:
none, off never make backups (even if --backup is given)
numbered, t make numbered backups
existing, nil numbered if numbered backups exist, simple otherwise
simple, never always make simple backups

Aparently it is for an older version of exim. I found Mohamid at CpanelPlus whi installs it professionally.
He only charges $35.00 and makes sure it is done right and that the settings are all correct. He said he can have it done within 3 hours.
His e-mail is
mahmoud@cpanelplus.com . Tell him that Sal referred you please.

Or am I on crack?

And how to install clamav.
Thanks.
