Just had my box re-imaged last night and imap is refusing to start.

Waiting for imap to restart.... . . . . . . . . . . finished.

imap has failed, please contact the sysadmin.

Running WHM 8.6.0 and cPanel 8.6.0-R21 on RE3
I've tried uninstalling imap and reinstalling, but still get the same error. POP3 works fine.

We had this problem on RHE, and it was caused by a faulty /etc/sysconfig/network file. Check to see that this has all the correct settings within.

Do I put this line above the hostname or under the hostname.
Thanks

Doesn't matter, though it's usually above HOSTNAME.
Once you've done that, restart xinetd (run "service xinetd restart" as root). If you don't see an "OK" then xinetd is still refusing to start (which was the crux of the imap problem).
