I have a very annoying problem. SInce yesterday apache stops after a few hours running. I can't figure out why. The error logs don't tell me anything.
The bad thing is that sim does not restart it. It thinks it still working, so apache is down till i restart it.

Does anybody have a clue on what's going on? What i can do?

Do you have any idea about the server load when Apache quits ? Might be a bad PHP or CGI script.

I'd advise you to write a shell script that runs a ps -aux every few minutes and restarts Apache if it can't find enough children. Always safe to have such a thing running on your boxes; can save a lot of headaches.

That's a nice idea. I was thinking that direction.
I can't script perl or something, but i think it's possible with php too.

I thought that rebooting may be useful and it looks like it is. I haven't got any problems since.
