Anyone care to share how to boot a root SSH user? Yes... 'root' user. I cant seem to boot that user (double login).

Just wait a while, it will get cleared up soon. Happens when you get disconnected unexpectedly.
If you're in hurry reboot , but thats not good generally.
screen -r will reconnect to the last screen session, as long as you were running screen before the disconnect.
Tip, always run screen first in a session, then unexpected disconnects can be handled by screen -r on re-login

It been hanging for 5 days now. Usually, yes, it goes away but it seems to be hanging around this time for some reason. I hate to reboot a box for something so minor.

try ps -U root and find the oldest (lowest pid) bash running then kill that pid ?
