I have a maddening situation whereby one of my user accounts keeps "forgetting" the password assigned to it.
I will generate a password in whm for cpanel access, and login to the account successfully, and then a few hours later this password is no longer valid. Back I go to whm, create another password, login to the cpanel account successfully, then a few hours later the password is useless.
I've had to generate 4 passwords for this user, who by now must think I'm drunk.
This issue pertains to only one account (thankfully). Could there be a cpanel password file somewhere that is corrupt? Any ideas would be appreciated.
Huge thanks,
James

Have you tried deleting and recreating the account? I would back the data up, recreate and then see if it happens after. Might also be worth checking out the Cpanel forums tosee if its a known bug.

Unless the bug has been fixed, I do not recomend terminating and recreating the account, unless changing the username is not going to bother your client.
When you terminate an account, cPanel does not cleanly remove all references to that username, and, as such, it will indicate that that username is taken when you try to recreate it.
