I am trying to transfer a few domains to EV1 servers. If I try to pay with American Express, I get the error:

Error processing your Credit Card information:

We were not able to authorize your Credit Card.

I get this error trying with multiple AmEx cards. Visa cards work just fine.

Has anybody had success paying with AmEx? I'm trying to determine if the problem is just my cards, or with AmEx cards in general.

-Thanks

I had the exact same problem. Two American Express cards would not work. Master Card does work.

I think that they have something wrong with the way they handle American Express....who should we tell?

Ev1 customer service recommended that I send an email to ssl@ev1.net. Their response was:

"We still searching on the problem, we are not sure what the problem is because we have several customers that order the certificate without any problem also the problem is not only with the American Express card is also with the other credit cards. You can try again later today and see if it works."

I have since had success in using my AmEx card. I don't know if the problem has been fixed, or if the problem is simply intermittent.

If you're still having problems you may want to email ssl@ev1.net. I wouldn't bother with Ev1 telephone support, they don't seem to be helpful.

Actually telephone support is extremely helpful for webhosting issues, so is live support chat, but support for domains (domains@ev1servers.net) and ssl certificates (ssl@ev1.net) is only available via email.
