I currently have a cPanel RH 7.3 server with Modern Bill and am running out of bandwidth every month.

I have access to a plain RH 9 server on another network, this box does not have cPanel on it. Fresh install.

Can/how do I utilize the other box in conjuction with my primary cPanel box ?

I would like to use the second plain RH box for backups and to put a few high volume domains on it to eleviate the bandwidth usage on the primary box.

Is this possible ? If so, can someone point me in the right direction.

Thanks.

You could use scp to move over the entire /backups/cpbackup/daily directory once a week or something, checkout this site for a quick guide on setting it up or google for more detailed info:
http://eth0.us/faq/scp.htm

As for the moving the large domains, you can leave mail/dns on your main server and just move the apache stuff over to the new server. It would be pretty simple, apache/mysql/php should already be setup. You might checkout virtualadmin, from the creator of webmin, for a free CP that you can use on the server.

See how far that gets you and post here again if you have any more specific questions.

eth00 thanks for the reply. The 2nd box has 10 IP addresses, I was wondering if it was possible for the 2nd box to be integrated with the primary cPanel box. EV1 can not give me any IPs since my subnet is saturated and we all know the IP story here.

i.e. some cPanel/whm setting that would allow the 2nd box's resources (disk space, IP's) to become available to the primary box.

If not, would installing cPanel on the 2nd box allow the 2 boxes to share resources ?

Then will modernbill be able to see the 2nd box ?

I just want to add a few boxes and be able to control and utilize the resources from 1 cPanel/whm/modernbill/IP.

I searched through the forums at cpanel.net to find absolutely nothing on this subject.

Surely all these web hosts do not install cp and billing software on every box and keep them separate.

I am a total linux/*nix newb, if u cant point and click, then i am lost icon_smile.gif

TIA
