see
http://www.freessl.com/faq.html#8
Basically if the organisation that issues the cert is not a Trusted Root Certification Authority then it needs to use a chained ssl cert
If you are using IE 6 look that tools -> internet options -> content -> Certificates
You will see a list of trusted CA
There is no difference in terms of security really as both will encrypt the data moving from browser to server
It's a matter of trust and price

Funny I am using Mozilla Firebird and the Chained SSL cert I have on my site is working in that browser. Getting the padlock and cert info in the browser.
Well after you manually installed the root cert.

Any will work fine after you install the root certificate, but if you're going to have people do that, you can just self-sign it.

It's a waste of $10 hardly trusted.... you may as well self sign it than get one of those.... the $25 is well worth the $15 more.

.... look for a small increase in SSl pricing. However, our base pricing will still be lower than most every wholesale providers offerings......
