is it possible to change the main shared IP for our hosting to newer IP alised to the same box ?

say a bunch of sites or ALL sites?

Yes in the main settings there is the option for the main shared IP: Change it to the IP you wish to use. I don't think this will change over existing sites however, only new sites.

Cheers
Bashar
cant i go to change site's ip address and switch it to that ip ?
ramprage
Well yes but you'll need to change every site manually.

Why do you want to change all your sites to a new IP anyways?
Unless it's the main shared IP, each site can only use 1 IP.
Bashar
because my main IP is firewalled out due attacks

i tried going to the change site's ip address but hwenever i change any website to that new Ip i placed in the shared IPs its gone for that website and i can't use it as shared or for another website!

how to avoid this?

Read my post below....

1) Change the server main shared IP in WHM Setup
From IP A to IP B

2) While still in WHM go to Change Site IP option

3) Select the NEW main shared IP eg: IP B

That should do it.......icon_wink.gif
Bashar
i did that

when i change the first site to the new main shared IP it disapear i can't use it for another website anymore icon_sad.gif

Hmm sorry I thought that would have worked. I guess WHM is assigning it as a dedicated IP instead of a shared even though it is.

The only option I can see now is to edit the httpd.conf file manually and change sites IP addresses and the NameVirtual setting.

Cheers
