In cpanel, isn't possible to entering client's cp without knowing their password?

You can enter a clients Cpanel by using their username and the machine root password.

Just to add....If you intend to use the root password https:// to your clients domain should be used ;-)
This will keep the root password safe!

By the same token, https://*:2083 should always be used to protect all passwords.

well yeah - hense in my post I used httpS://*/whm - that would transfer you to :2083... my point was - is there a difference?

https://..../whm uses port 2087. As long as the https is there, you'll be using port 2087.

I have never used that alias. Port 2083 is for secure access to CPANEL not WHM. Port 2087 is for secure access to WHM (http://*:2087). Again I have not used that alias, but I imagine it would direct you to 2087 (or 2086 if not secure).
