Can someone please help, this DNS stuff makes my head pop.. icon_sad.gif

I have one account created with 4 domain names. However I wish one domain to be the master "mysite" and the 3 other domains "slave1-3" to use the same index page as the master but have their own URLs and emails.

I am guessing that this is easiest to do with the DNS settings and the CNAME property, but am not sure.

Given the master "mysite" DNS settings below, how would I adjust this for say "slave1" to redirect the domain to the master index file and give "slave1" email accounts.

mysite. com. NS ns1. rackshack. net.
mysite. com. NS ns2. rackshack. net.
mail. mysite. com. A 66. xxx. xxx. xxx
ns. mysite. com. A 66. xxx. xxx. xxx
mysite. com. A 66. xxx. xxx. xxx
webmail. mysite. com. A 66. xxx. xxx. xxx
ftp. mysite. com. CNAME mysite. com.
lists. mysite. com. CNAME mysite. com.
www. mysite. com. CNAME mysite. com.
mysite. com. MX 10 mail. mysite. com.
66. xxx. xxx. xxx /24 PTR mysite. com.

This can not be done in DNS. The easiest way is to simlink the site1, site2 and site3 httpdocs directories to master/httpdocs and configure apache to follow simlinks.

Thanks 4PSA..Thats just what I needed a couple of keywords "httpdocs + simlinks" to start my investigation.

Why does Plesk not support this ? I would think that this is a must have control panel function.. Any intention of including it in the future.

For all those following this link, here are some full thread discussion for you to learn about this subject. Read them all the way through before implementing as some mistakes are made by posters.

Perhaps there is a need for a nice How-To for email and domain aliasing since this function is not supported by Plesk.
