Full Version: How do you like Plesk?

Greetings,

I'm waiting to get a p4 and want to make a decision about admin software. I'm wondering how the people who use Plesk feel about it?

Has anyone used Cpanel and or Ensim and have a preference for any of them? I'm told that CPanel offers more options, but nobody can tell me what they are.

I did notice that tomcat and postgress seem to be missing from the list under Plesk, but that the Plesk website lists them. Is the version ev1 offers a less functional one than the Plesk direct offering?

Also, what billing software is preferred with Plesk, the CPanel people are saying they like WHM Autopilot but that's CPanel only.

Finally, I need to be able to do email redirects to php scripts, is that something that Plesk allows/supports or at least doesn't prevent? It seems to be a real problem to do under Ensim.

Thanks for any advice.

The rackshack license doesn't include postgre and tomcat. Yes, you can redirect email output to php scripts using a pipe in .qmail files. Overall I fully recommend you Plesk, but I might be subjective although I know Ensim and Cpanel, too.

Given your name, "4PSA", I do think you are a little partial to Plesk. icon_biggrin.gif

I find CPanel to offer the most features, and easiest upgrades and patches -- however, it is the least secure. Plesk is a very stable product -- but lacks many features. Ensim seems to be the compromise. Ensim, as well, is the most secure CP out of the bunch.
