How can I make my whois info private? I run a decent sized sports website and started getting letters at home from fans and even phone calls. I wondered as to how they got my information as I dont even use my real name on my site and figured out that it came from whois lookups.

Depending on your registrar, you can have them hide that info. GoDaddy as an example will hide contact info but they charge you $9.00 per year. I think that most registrars offer this type of service now.
If your name isn't registered through a registrar that offers this then transfer the name to a registrar that does.

Be careful.
False information could get your domain revoked. (make sure whatever information you put there is real!)

put your friends (or yours) work address and a pager #. for company name put "Boxing Scene HQ"
i too have been repeatedly harassed by people who found my information through whois. there are a lot of crazy people out there with a LOT of time on their hands. i would never put my home information in there, that is for sure.
and i sure as hell aint paying $9 for the "priviledge" of hiding my information. Thats a bunch of hooey as far as I am concerned. Your information should be protected by default, not as an "extra".
also consider "accidentally" misspelling your last name so they cant look in a phone book. as long as its phoenetically correct i dont see the problem with this.
