Full Version: moving from ensim to cpanel

I purchased Cpanel box -- am trying to move all my Ensim sites over so I don't have downtime. Problem is I can't move the accounts without setting up nameservers and I want the same nameservers. When I add the nameservers I currently use on the Ensim box, Cpanel won't accept them because they have already been assigned an ip number. I plan to change the info at the registrar as soon as sites are moved over. Does anyone know how to move accounts from ensim to Cpanel BEFORE changing the dns to reflect the new ip's?

Any help appreciated

hi

yes i suppose you can add those domains even if they point to another ip using this option in WHM

go to server setup
go to tweak setting
activate this option "Allow Creation of Parked/Addon Domains that resolve to other servers (ie domain transfers) [This can be a major security problem. If you must have it enabled, be sure to not allow users to park common internet domains.] "

then you can try to add the domains as add ons domains in cpanel, you will move them later as individuals domain I guess

good luck

Didn't work. Maybe I am trying something that cannot be done. I want to change the IP# for the dns on WHM first, then change it at the registrar. But, when I try to assign an IP#, I get this: "Sorry, the nameserver ns1.xxxxx.com already has the ip xxx.xx.xxx.xx assigned to it"

Can you tell me how to simply use the same nameservers on the new CPanel machine? Do I just change the nameserver IP# at the registrar and wait to see if it works?

Thanks in advance ...
