since plesk 6 has been on the market for some time now and a bugfix is already avaible and especially the backup tools are avaible, i wanted to migrate to 6.x
how do i start there?
any guide anywhere? what i should i do before? backup, prepare stuff etc. ?!
oh and how does it work with RS? do i have to install the update and they'll just provide the key or how will that work?

Thanks for your help!

wrong forum this is for the posting of how-to's only icon_smile.gif

you need to contact RS or Plesk for a new license (for V6) then run the psa6 install as an upgrade... it will go straight over the top of psa5 if im correct icon_smile.gif

whoops, sorry for posting in the wrong section then...
if i understood you right, i have to run the update myself and then contact RS to install the new key. did i get that right?

thanks for your help!

you download plesk 6 (if you have a standard install dont run the rpm install and vice versa) then just run it and use the "upgrade" option instead of install.

Once its setup it will say the license is invalid, to get the psa6 license either "order" one from the members section (i think - and it is free icon_wink.gif ) alternatively go to plesk.com go into downloads and theres a system on the main page where you put in your old license and it will generate one for psa6 and make your psa5 licenses invlaid icon_smile.gif

Hope this helps
