I am getting the following error after trying to update the kernel using SSH and up2date using the rpm -ivh command:

Preparing... ########################################### [100%]

stdin: is not a tty
stdin: is not a tty
stdin: is not a tty

Im new to all this so any help would be appreciated.

Im recently purchased a Cpanel P4 box with 1gb of RAM.

does the process just stop there?

Those messages look familiar i think we had them but it continued and worked fine....

Yeah it just stopped right after that and went back to the directory that i ran the kernel from. I just want to make sure that if i continue with the sticky in the Linux forums on updating the kernel that i will be ok.
Mich
Nvm rebooted fine with no problems.

Don't do it because it resulted in a kernel panic on my server and now i have to do a system restore. More money out of my pocket and i just got this thing. I had no error messages besides that one and everything went smoothly. I don't know why my server did this.

Those are standard messages on cpanel kernel upgrades. We have done a large number of kernel upgrades on cpanel servers and this is standard.
