Full Version: Is Plesk a pain? Are there mail lists?

A couple of questions before I plunk down my money....

Does Plesk get in the way of command-line administration? I expect to be hosting only domains that are mine or those of somebody I know. We'd prefer to do most admin through the command line and scripts. But I'd still like to be able to use the Plesk occasionally. Am I going to find myself cursing the Plesk software, as something I always need to work around?

Also, does the qmail supplied include the list manager? (qmx, I think it's called) Or can it be installed easily? I just need to have a few small lists, but I want to use a real list manager.

Appreciate any comments.

IMHO, I've worked with both Ensim and Plesk, and I've cursed Ensim more in an hour working with Ensim, than a week working with Plesk.

I've never really got very involved with the command line while Plesk was installed, so I can't comment really on your other questions.

I like Plesk a LOT over ensim but plesk is still a big pain and has quite a few bugs. I'm constantly fixing the server and it's been over a month and a half.
