My Geotrust certificate is ending in a month, and currently the certificate is installed to:

*mydomain.com*

If i go to my control panel via ip: https://216.127.**.***/etc it tells me that the certificate is valid but does not match the address.

When i renew, should i just use the ip address for the certificate or use *mydomain.com*

thanks

You must use a domain or host, not IP address (it doesn't actually belong to you!). I would however change my host name to "secure" or something else more appropriate. To avoid cert mismatch, always login with URL on cert.

Are you using cPanel, Tierranova?

SSL Certs are bound to Domains. You can come into chat and talk with our SSL group and they can give you much better information than I have.
