That is your problem GODADDY SUCKS! Sorry about that but just had to tell you the truth. I would contact Godaddy which will be a pain due to the fact I stated in the First line. Keep bugging them till they fix it, I am guessing it is on Godaddy's end cause RS was a breeze for me. Sorry about that and hope it helps out!

I see that complaint alot in these forums which is too bad. I transferred one domain already from godaddy without problem but maybe they don't like the fact that someone else is cheaper. At any rate, when you transfer, doesn't the registar that you're transferring to send you an email to confirm your intent before they submit it to the losing registar (I can't remember)? I haven't received anything. Luckily, the domain is not real important so I'll probably let it go the way of the digital wind. Thanks for your imput and it does suck if godaddy is screwing us for transferring away from them.

Yes I agree, but think about it!

Godaddy charges 8.88 or what not and RS charges 5.41 for Register and Transfers, why not delay the process for you so you "Have" to reRegister it from Goaddy? Pretty good SCAM on Godaddy's part if you ask me.

So when it comes to transferring from godaddy, it's probably wise to allow 2 months before expiration because they know they can't delay it forever...maybe. rolleyes.gif

Sad to say but yes from godaddy and they will with hold it for a while as well. If it goes past seven days I think it is an automatic transfer, But for there reasons they can denie it. Sorry about the english been out at the bars "Yanks" hahah HELL YEAH

Tim, why not Email or Call RS and the other party where your Domain name is, it might speed up a few things in process. Sometimes you need to jump start them icon_smile.gif

Good luck if you need more help let me know, who is the losing registar?

Hello,

I've initialized a transfer for a .ORG domain to RS and when going to the confirmation URL (the one on the confirmation email) it prompts for an "AUTHORIZATION CODE". Here's what it says:

"The authorization code for the domain is also required to approve this transfer request. Please enter it in the field below. This code is obtainable from the current registrar of record. The code is typically 8 digits in length, consisting of numbers and letters. For more information regarding this code, please click here."

And when "clicking there":

"auth code"
The "auth info" code is created at the time the domain is created. Transfer commands must contain this auth info code to confirm transfer authority. The current Registrar of record will have the auth info code and must provide it to the Registrant. If they do not, the Registrar is in breach of their Registry-Registrar Agreement and the Registrant should contact the appropriate Registry.

I've sent a ticket to Register.com to see if they can supply this code to me.

Anyone has any experience with this?

Thank you,

Adrian

Yeah, you have to have an Auth code for (I believe) .org, .biz, .us and .info domains. Your current registrar has to supply it... most have a button or link in their control panel that supplies it to you. With the control panel here, its on the "Domain Extras" page

Where is this feature normally located, my current registar doesn't seem to have an option.
