The transfer is free but you will be charged $5 + tax to extend the domain name for 1 year.

Yes currently they are free of charge cannot say how long that will last though get them in while you can.

All you must pay is the registration fee which is currently $5.41 which adds a year onto whatever the current expiration date is on your domain.
Just please be sure to follow the guidelines as set forth in the
Domain Transfer Updates thread to insure a painless transfer process. We have seen several that are coming through that are costing manual processing which may in turn drive up the cost if it continues. The manual processing is not a problem it's only a problem when someone does not follow the guidelines that we have provided.
Thank you,

If you register domains for your customer's.. remember, RS will contact your customer's with a nice "welcome to Rackshack" email..
and with some add's for some dedicated server's ;-P

OK I am bit confused about price. Transfer is free but cost $5.60 to extend domain for a year? I have domans I want to transfer, but don't want to renew it. Meaning when it expire, I don't want to keep that domain. In this case, would RS still charge 5.60 or will it be totally free?

... then why would you want to transfer it to RackShack in the first place?

So that everything will be tidy and nice with RS.

The transfer is included with the renewal for the year, all for $5.41 total.

When can we transfer .ORG domains to RackShack? Our church's domain is going to expire this Dec. 7, 2003. Please let me know, so i dont have to wait in vain.
Thanks.

I like the sound of these $5 domains but I would prefer to pay more for a good reseller interface.
Ja?

A lot of registrars block transfers in the month before expiry, so I'd get onto it if I were you.

Many actually pay A LOT more for the SAME user interface! OpenSRS/Tucows (whom EV1 is reselling for) usually charges US$10 WHOLESALE per name year.

When transferring; the 1-year-extension, is that from the time you transfer it or from the time it expires?
Thank you

The year gets added to the end of your current expiration.

But if you have a name with netsol with say 5 years left, will the 1 year be added onto it? ie 6 years left.
I don't think Ev1 would give away domains for 5 years free. Wouldn't make much sense to me.

You will absolutely get the 6th year. When you transfer a domain into our registration services we renew it for an additional year, meaning even if it expired in 2020 before you completed the transfer to EV1Servers, it will now expire in 2021.

To elaborate a bit on Aaron's remark, EV1 does NOT "give away domains for 5 years free": YOU have already paid for that at e.g. netsol. It's accepted by the domain name industry (as reflected in ICANN's contract and/or memorandum) that registrars will endorse years left with the losing registrar. So when you transfer away from netsol, the 5 years left will be carried over, so to speak.

cool, I transferred 1 domain no problem. I will probably transfer the other ones when they are closer to being due.
Thanks

Not too close to due dates I must add, esp. when they are at netsol. You never know.
By the way, how about my sales commissions, Aaron? LOL!

Be safe, try to give yourself at least a month.
