Full Version: Question on upgrading PHP on a Plesk CP-based server
The Planet Forums > Control Panels > Plesk

Greetings:

We are trying to help a customer running Plesk to upgrade their PHP.

Their PHP INFO page shows the ./configure was done using "--with-apxs2=/usr/sbin/apxs" (among other option settings).

There is no /usr/sbin/apxs on the box. I get the feeling their hosting provider has a "master" box they just copy the final files from to new boxes they sell.

There is a /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/apxs on the box, however.

Yet, when we try to use that, it states the box is running Apache 1.3 and we are trying to use something just for Apache2.

I don't know if that means /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/apxs is Apache 1.3.xx or what.

Any advise for trying to get this box's PHP upgraded?

Thank you.

For a RedHat box it's easier to update the RPMs or to compile the RPM from the RedHat spec file.

Greetings 4PSA:

Thank you for your reply.

The catch is that the client needs specific items compiled into PHP.

So I doubt to find an RPM.

Thank you.
