This has been going on for about a MONTH now. It all started when another company purchased a server from RS and for some reason THEIR default plesk page was showing OUR admin email

I was aware of this because the other companys customers were emailing me for support on their websites hosted by this other hosting company. Ever since then i have been receiving emails sent out from this company to their customers containing sensitive information such as account names/passwords!!

I have contacted the other company about this and we have both emailed and sent support tickets but RS refuse to do anything about it. I see they take customers privacy very seriously rolleyes.gif Makes me wonder how many RS customers are receiving all my emails!!

Below is a censored example of the emails i receive (around 20 per day!):

Hi tell the other company to change the e.mail address to thiers !
Its easely done with ssh (or telnet).
1) open telnet
2) enter server and type in :
su
then fill in password
3) do
cd ../../../
4) then
cd usr/local /psa/home/vhosts/default/httpdocs
then
pico index.html
They can then edit the file and when they have changed the e.mail back to theirs they just to "control x" and choose yes ("y") the press enter

The above instructions are correct if you want to change the e-mail displayed on the default page. But the e-mail message you posted above has nothing to do with that. This one is automated and sent by qmail itself, not a customer.

Somehow the other company's qmail thinks that you are the admin and is sending failed e-mails to your address. To change admin e-mail address for qmail, tell them to look into directory:

/usr/local/psa/qmail/alias

They will find three files in there and it seems some or all of them have your e-mail address inside. Tell them to change it to their appropriate addresses and you won't get any more e-mails... (observe the correct format before changing the contents of files).

Now, if you are saying you get 20 e-mails per day, perhaps their admin decided he would rather send them to you than read them himself... icon_biggrin.gif (just kidding).

[root@plesk admin]# cd /usr/local/psa/qmail/alias
bash: cd: /usr/local/psa/qmail/alias: No such file or directory
[root@plesk admin]#

Locate on qmail doesn't bring it up.

Hm... do you have RPM or standard install of Plesk? Try locating the file: .qmail-postmaster (the dot is not a typo).

Of course, there is a possibility that our directory trees are different. What subdirectories do you have under qmail directory...?

Its the RPM version Yea far as I know.... I seem to have a diffrerent setup to everyone else because it was manualy done. /var/qmail/alias/ has those files.... Gonna have a look throught them now

Seems RS have added my mail to it... Certianly its not my original mail. Hopefully this will be the end of it
