I'll be attempting to install either php accelerator or zend optimizer and would like to hear some feedback regarding these products.

I'm currently setting up a server to run an Ad Server program with php/mysql. Installation instructions for the Ad Server recommend a php accelerator for better performance.

I've search the forum but I don't see much information regarding this topic.

Someone willing to share their thoughts.

Thanks

My Setup:
Plesk 6.0.1
Linux RedHat 9.0
P4 2gig
1 Gig RAM
80 Gig Drive

Use MMCache instead. It's faster than Php Accelerator, and comes with an optimizer built-in.

Erwin,

I'll give MMCache a shot next week!

Thanks

I'm following the instructions on installing MMCache and I noticed that mod_php isn't installed in the Plesk setup.

MMCache website states that it requires php_mod 4.1:

I've tried looking for an RPM or site and ended up cold. Where can I find php_mod?

Can I install MMCache without php_mod? If I install php_mod, will this conflict with Plesk?

Anyone that has any further information and assist with this setup would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I'm running PHP Accelerator and think it works great. Speedup for php pages was as fast as they claim, and I've had no conflicts with Plesk or other products.

I'm sure many of the other accelerators are very good too.
