I am currently on a Plesk 2.5 server. I want to upgrade to 6.0, I figure the easiest way to do this is buy a new server with the $1 setup and transfer all my sites to the new box. Are there migration scripts for this? Is there an easy way to update the DNS for all the sites if the same box is running the DNS?
What tips or advice can you offer? You help & time is very much appreciated!
Regards,
Andy

You can upgrade the current server to Plesk 6.0 directly. If you buy a new box with Plesk 6, you will need to upgrade to Plesk 6 on your old box anyway.

What if I just want to get rid of the old box? Are there migration tools available? Do they require migrating from certain versions to certain versions?
Thanks,
Andy

BU will be available soon, but you need to migrate from a version to the same version.

Depending on the number of sites you host, you might want to consider getting your new Rackshack server first (for a prorated monthly fee) and transfering your data over directly, creating your sites fresh in Plesk 6. Before your billing date arrives, you can cancel your old Rackshack server if you so desire, although it never hurts to have a backup

.
Thank you,
