Hi,

I just upgraded to RH 9 with cPanel 7 using the latest STABLE release - everything is working fine - looking good so far.

I'm wondering whether people using RH 9 with cPanel use the latest STABLE or the latest EDGE releases of cPanel, and if it makes a difference for RH 9.
Lewis
Erwin, it shouldn't there may be new features or new support for programs in edge releases. You can always look at the changelog and see if you need to upgrade.

I would never use Edge. I have considered using the Release tree but waiting a few days for stuff to be put in Stable seems reasonable to me.
Erwin
Thanks for the feedback. Since cPanel is running marvellously at STABLE on RH 9 I will just stick with that. I just read somewhere that you needed to run cPanel at EDGE for RH 9 to work properly, but that was a while back, so I assume that it's moved to STABLE by now.
Lewis
Like I said if you really want a feature that edge only has then use edge till that feature becomes stable.

Hope you're going to write a how-to - specifically for cpanel. Lots of people are going to have to do this before EOL for 7.3.

I basically used a combination of the How-To by newuser and the How-To by nuclear - and added a few of my own steps to fix errors that cropped out. It's a messy thing to do, and you have to persist with it, and not give up. icon_smile.gif It's actually hard to write down as a How-To since different servers will come up with different errors, which need their own fixing. But I am happy to write it, if there is enough demand. Obviously credits given to the original authors.

I'm using EDGE on a RedHat 9 and runs perfectly...

Heh, I thought that you had said that you were going to wait to do this erwin? icon_smile.gif

And combining the two and sharing your experiences I think would be a good thing.

I've done it. It's in the cPabel How-To section.
