having biiig problems right now.

for some reason, BIND is down and won't start ... even after a restart.

yesterday we bought a cPanel box and through their interface, have setup the old ensim server as primary nameserver, created a trust relationship .... yadayada ... but i'm definitely thinking something to do with that is responsible for BIND not being able to start now.

when i try to restart BIND;

Stopping named: [FAILED]
Starting named: [ OK ]


weird, eh?



any advice????!!!!!

(but when i go into 'services' from the web control panel, it clearly shows that BIND is not running)

the cpanel server was adding a buncha @#!@#!@#!@#!e to named.conf ... that ended up freaking out BIND

So it is possible to run cpanel AND ensim on the same box at the same time?

dunno we're not running them on the same box.

naw i mean the cpanel server was adding zones improperly to named.conf on the ensim server .... that was prohibiting a proper BIND startup.

That explains it. then =)

Moved to > Cpanel/WebHost Manager > Cpanel DNS > as it obviously didn't belong in the Ensim general comments section.. Mouse

(when i posted it was an ensim issue because BIND wasn't starting on the ensim box.)
