hi,

during my cpanel installation some files on the cpanel server were broken and apache failed after a new installation.

I deleted the folder installd in /home and startet the installation again.. The files which existed on the server were not overwritten. Apache worked after that but a lot of things were looking like not finished.. for example domain.com/cpanel hadn't work because the entries in the httpd.conf were missing.

everytime I run /scripts/easyapache or /upcp now, the server hangs totally up. It has to be restarted manually in the datacenter..

Now I would like to reinstall cpanel completely. All files should be renewed.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks in advance.

Dave.

IF apache is your only problem restore a old copy of the httpd.conf. If you take the reinstall route just delete your httpd.conf and do easyspache again. WARNING WARNING WARNING this will delete all your sites from apache.

Basically if you cannot restore looks like your going to have to copy and paste all sorts of stuff to get your httpd.conf back to where it should be.

Though reinstalling would not help if you look on the cpanel.net webpage there is a download link that shows you the one command you have to run to reinstall. But remember this would not help so don't bother.

I forgot: the server is new and still empty.. I don't have to save some datas or settings..

when I reinstall cpanel with wget .../latest and sh latest.. will all files be overwritten?

did you talk about this? I haven't found another way to reinstall it. Is that correct?

Correct. Go ahead and rename the httpd.conf so that it generates a new one during the setup. You might even try moving it the running easyapache
