Full Version: IP Hijacked

Hello,

My main IP for one of my primary DNS servers is being used by another server all of the sudden.

I have created a trouble ticket. I was given the run around(being bounced back and forth between people that were just closing it and saying contact "whoever").

I thought I finally got on the right track, but nope, this last one closes the ticket twice, telling me the server is pingable and httpd responds. OF COURSE IT RESPONDS, someone else is using my IP. The server responding is a Plesk Server, when in fact the server the IP is supposed to be assigned to MY cpanel server.

Anyone else have these problems with IPs?

Just go into the direct support thing, if you adress the problem right to the techs they will respond very quickly to ip-hijacks.

I will try that, thanks.

Just want to point out, I am not bashing rackshack, just getting a little stressed out over something that can be easily checked into and being bounced back and forth. Also wanted to get a general idea as if to this happens a lot.

Edit: the ticket has been updated since I posted this. It now says "RackShack - RS - Investigating"

Don't worry, RS will get this thing done - it happened to me before

And indeed they did, everything is good to go now icon_smile.gif

Thanks

I had this happen once on a server.. RS had the network guru's check the ARP Cache and sure enough found out someone was doinking around.. so they fixed it.. most times its the "investigation" that takes a while. and while its going on, there is nothing to report.

My problem was, before they weren't investigating it, they were just basically saying, "box pings, sshd is up, etc, not our prob". This is why I got stressed out.
