Hello!

I have had a Plesk box for quite some time. I set it up to handle all DNS issues using 2 unique IPs for the same box as my 2 nameservers.

I have recently acquired a 2nd box running Cpanel. I'm trying to decide what the best DNS option is. It seems like I could:

A) leave the Plesk as is. Set up the Cpanel as it's own DNS server with it's own nameservers (different names than the plesk box). Then, if I add an account to one machine or the other, just be sure to tell the client the correct nameservers for that machine. I.E. each machine is it's own completely encapsulated hosting environment.

B) Set up a master-slave relationship so that an acocunt created on either box will have DNS on both. Then I can have ns1 be one box and ns2 be the other.

My question is: what do people recommend? If B (which I'm leaning towards), can people point me to some good tutorials on setting up DNS on Cpanel, setting the master-slave relationship, setting up the trust relationship, etc.

One other thing: I haven't upgraded my Plesk to 5.0 yet. I'm planning to, but just haven't gotten around to it. icon_sad.gif Will that make a difference? I.e., should I upgrade before I try to mess with any DNS coordination between the boxes?

I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks!
