I decided I would give Pure-ftpd a shot through WHM, afterwords I realized none of the past ftp accounts were working, and i can't get Proftpd back on.

It gives this error in WHM when trying to switch back to Pro

Anyone know of a solution?

Try this

rpm -qa |grep proftpd

Now for each rpm you see listed rpm -e proftpdXXX

Now once you uninstalled all of the proftpd try and change to pure.
