Sorry if this is in the wrong board, please move it if needed.
I am looking at a Plesk 5 machine with 512MB RAM vs 1GB RAM. Not sure if the extra $9 is worth it. I know it will depend on the type of sites I am hosting, and what services they are using, and so on. I know you can also never have too much RAM.
Anyhow, will I notice a difference for that $9 a month, or should I ask, what will mainly benefit from the 1GB?
Thanks
Carlos

In most cases you will notice the difference and 9$ really worth it.

I agree but it really depends on how busy your box is. my main site is a php/mysql heavy site and the extra memory did wonders.

For us it made a massive difference.
One of our clients has become very big and the machine was running out of memory at peak times and taking the machine down. Upgraded the memory and it has been as stable as a rock since.

I run about 800k-900k used with a gig of memory installed with about 80k in swap. when i only had 512k, it usually only had 30k free with 500k in swap.
i think it helped.
