If I set up a subdomain and make a dns entry on rackshack.net isn't the site instantly available?

I thought the last time I added a sub I was able to ftp right away, upload a page and be able to view it , www.sub.domain.com.

I just added a sub and the only way I can connect is via the ip and viewing in browser gets an error page.

Anyone have an answer?

Have you tried it without the www?

I tried with and without www and still get the same dns error.

2 things
You should be able to ftp into the sub if you use just the normal domain.com ftp and the correct user name

Second did you create the account as well. and how did you create the account.

Here is the simple way I do it....

1. create the account
a. domain extension is the sub name IE sub
b. domain name listed domain.com
c. alias www.sub.domain.com

2. Create user like normal.

3. DNS go to domain.com's DNS
a. add sub into the prefix portion
b. domain.com then IP

4. Do another DNS with www.sub as the extenstion and the rest like normal

and you should be a go
