OK.. I'm probably out of my depth here... (I'm mainly a content producer, not tech guy) but trying to setup a CPanel server with 3 domains... and having problems finding out what I need to do to get all the bits pointing at each other...
I changed my domain registration records at Dotster, to point at Rackshacks nameservers... (waiting for it to propogate)
I setup 3 domains in WHM (formevolution.com, sketchpod.com, autoanddesign.com)...
I setup 'style.formevolution.com' as the hostname in WHM...
I setup the DNS record in the Rackshack Members area for each of these domains, all pointing at the IP number...
Each time I login to the WHM, I get this:
"The server was unable to lookup an an A entry for its hostname (style.formevolution.com). This is generally because the entry was never added. However this could also be the result of your nameserver(s) being down. If you would like to attempt to automaticlly add the entry"
then...
Adding an A entry for style.formevolution.com
IP=69.57.132.29 ndc: connect failed: connection refused Add Complete
Happens every time though...
And... I'm not sure if all of these things are correct....It's a bit unclear how all of the DNS functions relate, and most of the How-To's seem to cover only portions of it...
Where should I be looking for a complete guide to getting all this setup? Will requests for 'www.formevolution.com' (and the others) go thru to the right place?

Add an A record in the RS DNS control panel for style.formevolution.com, pointing to your server's IP? That should get rid of the problem I'd think, once the change shows up on RS' DNS servers.
And yes, requests for www, mail, ftp.yourdomains.com will go through so long as you added them to RS' DNS panel in the members area. If you want any other subdomains besides those basic ones you will need to add the records there too.

4. Broken NDC/BIND
My version of WHM/CPanel came with a broken NDC. To fix this:
SSH into your box as root.
(a) Type: cd /scripts
(b) Type: ./updatenow
© Type: ./fixndc
Go back into WHM, go to the Restart Services section in the left menu and click DNS/Nameserver (BIND).
You will need to do this if you start getting 'ndc' errors when you are doing anything DNS related in WHM.
From the nameserver post. It fixed my errors

OK... did it. Now I don't get the NDC error..
BUT... I still get the "No 'A' record" popup window every time I log into WHM... I follow the instructions to automatically add the record and it says successful each time...but it happens on every login...
What do I check next?
(I am waiting on registrar propogation of my domain names, and still unsure if my entries in Rackshack Members Area DNS settings are correct)
