I just got a dedicated server running cpanel. I switched the domains name servers to the ns1.rackshack.net and ns2.rackshack.net addresses. Then I changed /etc/resolv.conf to the ns1.rackshack.net numerical ip address. What else do I have to do in order to see the files I have uploaded on my webpage? Right now it just shows the regular test page that was preloaded with apache. I went into the cpanel setup and looked around at the settings and never saw where to put any dns numbers or anything like that. I did add the primary and secondary name servers to the regular setup but that didn't do anything. I also rebooted to see if that would work, but no luck. I also didn't see any tutorials about setting up the first time unless I was going to use my own name servers, which I'm not.

I'm in the same boat, Hawk19. I can't see the pages I've upoaded... just seeing the Apache "Hey, it worked" message. Like you, I'm going to use Rackshack's nameservers. Any help would be greatly appeciated...?

Thanks.

DNS Zone menu is on the left hand side of WHM.
Did you create an account for your domain name?

Hi wizhoo,

Yes, I've created an account for my domain... "mydomain.com" which has the IP address of my server. However, when I visit mydomain.com through my web browser I see the Apache test page instead my upoaded index.html page.

BTW, I'm using rackshack's nameservers.

I've been advised that apache is set to the show this page for my IP address and that I can change this by editing the httpd.conf file on my server. Is that true? If so, how do I go about making the change?

Thanks for your help!
