Full Version: Mail forwarding on wildcard DNS
The Planet Forums > Control Panels > Plesk
mystery
I have a rather unusual request but a solution would be most appreciated.

I have set up a wildcard DNS so

*.domain.com all points to my server and i use URL rewriting to do my thang with it

Anyway the problem is i want to set up mail like

info@site1.domain.com
info@site2.domain.com
info@site3.domain.com

This wouldn't be a problem if i was setting up the domains individually in plesk, but since I'm using the rewriting I only have one entry in plesk for 'domain.com'

When I send a mail to an address such as above I get:

"Sorry. Although I'm listed as a best-preference MX or A for that host,
it isn't in my control/locals file, so I don't treat it as local. (#5.4.6)"

So obviously since plesk isn't recognising the domain the mail isn't getting auto-directed to the box I specify.

So is there a way to do this? Considering I want all the mail to forward to a common address and that there will be HUNDREDS of these addresses so setting them up manually is not an option.

Thanks.

Sounds tricky,

Let me know if you figure it out icon_biggrin.gif
