Just got a cPanel box with RH8 and cPanel 6.4.2.
I've set the messaging option up in WHM, and I get a wave of emails at least twice daily, telling me that Apache, Mysql, Exim etc... have FAILED, and that an automatic restart has been attempted!!!

What gives? anyone else having this problem? The only thing I've changed on the box is, I've recompiled apache according to gpan's instructions!

But why would that affect mysql, exim etc... ???

I am trying to figure out the same thing

My HTTP fails every week or so. The RS member page monitoring nor the WHM even knows it's down. Problem!

anyone can help us out? guys? Mouse? Anyone out there?
Erwin
At the time apache dies, what do these logs say:

/usr/local/apache/logs/error_log
/var/log/messages

This will help with diagnosis.

A common reason for this would be large log files - check the following directories:

/usr/local/apache/logs/
/var/log

and see if you have very large log files. If so, the path in logrotate.conf isn't right, which is the case in a default CPanel. Search for the HOW-TO by aussie that fixes this.

Any ideas? I believe what you mentioned about the path to logrotate.conf not being correct is right. But from the errors it looks to me like that's only part of the problem!

Looks like cPanel is looking for the ZendOptimizer and not finding it?

What do you think Doc ? icon_biggrin.gif

I do notice no rotation happening, but what is "too big" when it comes to a log?
