I have been struggling with this problem for nearly a week and cannot figure it out. Sometimes my main domain resolves just fine, but other times it just shows the Apache "Hey it Worked" screen.

All my other sites are resolving perfectly well. No hiccups. It's just this one.

I have noticed that when it is not resolving properly it is trying to find the site at the old servername (plain.rackshack.net). But I changed the server name several days ago!

Any and all ideas welcome.

Thank you.

Do you perhaps have two nameservers defined, and one is not updating?

...which is usually caused by not updating the serial number in the SOA section on the primary DNS server.

I was using:

64.xxx.xxx.185 >> NS1.MYDOMAIN.COM
64.xxx.xxx.186 >> NS2.MYDOMAIN.COM
207.218.223.162 >> NS1.RACKSHACK.NET

But I removed the RS DNS from the DNS zone page because I thought that might be causing the problem. So now it's just:

64.xxx.xxx.185 >> NS1.MYDOMAIN.COM
64.xxx.xxx.186 >> NS2.MYDOMAIN.COM

Still causing me problems though.

Where/how can I edit this?

Try posting the actual domainname on here.

If you use a control panel, it will auto update.

Just run a host on all of your domainservers, eg:

host www.elexer.com ns1.rackshack.net
host www.elexer.com ns2.rackshack.net
host www.elexer.com ns.elexer.com

do any of these show a different result, than your nameservers are not updating properly. If they all do show the correct nameservers, your domainname record might be having wrong nameservers listed, check this by using:

whois elexer.com

it will show the nameservers listed for your domain. Do these match the nameservers you expected them to be?
