I'm running a live support script. Now this script will work for a while after reloading the db and rebooting the server. After testing it will not save the username into the db. This is very very strange

i've tried this on another server and worked fine.

1. How do i find out what version on mysql is running on my server ?

2. could this be the cause ?

If anyone has any ideas why the username suddenly wont save please reply.

The server has just been restored, so i doubt its the kernel. Its the 1.7ghz celeron.

Version shouldnt be the problem, although it could be wrongly configured.

so the config from restore could lead to problems ?
