Good Morning Everyone!

For the last two nights it seems that Urchin scheduler stops, and requires me to manually restart it.

./urchinctl start

Is anyone else having this issue? Any ideas on cause or better yet a solution that does not require me to manually restart it.

are you reboot during the day also? urchin is probabably not restarting on boot. try this thread to check.

Thanks for replying to this thread. I had forgot I had left this question in the forums. How I corrected this issue was to change cPanel from autoupdate to manual. It seems that my server was checking nightly for updates and was shutting down Urchin when it does.

I changed this to update only when I initiate it and I know to restart Urchin when it is through.

I had found your post while researching my own problems with urchin. Just wanted to make sure you had it up and running.

I had the same problem. Very @#!@#!@#!@#!in' annoying. I would recommend simply adding it to your startup files, and adding it as a daily cron job (/usr/local/urchin4/bin/urchinctl start) will restart the webserver which isn't really needed, plus start the scheduler.

Cpanel is a much better control panel, you just need to know how it works underneath the hood cause sometimes it breaks, but hey--Plesk is just now figuring this out.

If I'm correct, PSA 6 isn't out yet....and they're just now figuring out that P***K should automatically update dameons so that servers are more secure....bravo!

Very good plesk! Why do you think people's servers were getting hacked who didn't know how to run a linux server?

If anyone wants the emails [forwarded to them] in which I started a net-wide rant back and forth with P***K corp and got them to admit they were wrong and their control panel was @#!@#!@#!@#! let me know....I'd be more than happy to forward them to anyone who asks. I enjoy mind-@#!@#!@#!@#!ing people.
