i'd actually get a new server and use the account move function from old server to new. im not sure there are any convertors for ON the system. definitely possible though.

I did it, I found a how to uninstall ensim here on the forums and completely removed ensim, then I installed cpanel. Worked with no problems what so ever.

Just make sure you follow the steps closely.

I would recommend against it - unless its a clean ensim box, anything modded it really messes things up, atleast thats what my experience was. I had to have someone fix it for me which they did after a lot of work which I'm very greatful for.

Everything seemed to run fine, but it was running ensim db's, the dns records were all in a shamble almost did not pull up.

my box comes with 600mb bw so I couldn't have switched it coz then Id be stuck with the standard 400mb bw, so I decided to stay. But I would probably have reimaged the bloody thing had I known.

if you have clients on this system, you really need to be careful, i'd get a whole new box, transfer em, then cancel the old box just to be on the safe side.

well we just went through this and ill tell ya no sleep and no weekend we had 227 domains on the server and installed cpanel over ensim and it converted 77 of those domains and we have had to manually enter the rest as well as restore each site from backup. Apache has died 4 times this weekend but it appears to be stable now. It works but its a pain in the @$$ to get it right. i have learned alot over the past 2 days so i guess its been nice learning exp.

lol mbennett.... don't you just hate that sometimes the best way to learn something is to screw something up!? Then you are obligated to fix it. I've been there hundreds of times and feel your pain icon_smile.gif

Just wanted to add my comments in here. We just purchased a CPanel box and are currently in the process of moving our clients from our Ensim machine over. I have to say at first it can be quite difficult to move the accounts manually, but once you do it a few times it gets pretty easy. I can probably do an average to large sized client in about 20 mins (including recreating email boxes, forwarders, web data, and database data). All in all, we are extremely thrilled with CPanel. We plan on blasting a new OS over our ENSIM box (plain Debian or Redhat) to run our DNS, backup server, etc.
