I want to run own dns server,and I request 2 Ips point to
ip1 to ns1.mydomain.com
ip2 to ns2.mydomain.com

and add A record in my Plesk.

Q1:Now the domain www.mydomain.com is still hosted by rackshack,can I use my own DNS to resovle my other domain?

Q2:If I want to use my own DNS server to resovle my other domain that use ensim box (hosted by rackshack's dns) ,what should I do to let my own dns can resovle the domain?

This can be simply set-up by visiting my plesk nameserver set-up guide. It should be perfect for you. I don't know about the other server business though...

You could register 4 nameservers, and Run DNS on both machines, each with it's own 2 nameservers run. Here I'll explain...

Ensim Box
ns1.yourdomain.com - 207.44.220.xx1
ns2.yourdomain.com - 207.44.220.xx2

Server2
ns3.yourdomain.com - 207.44.220.xx3
ns4.yourdomain.com - 207.44.220.xx4

This way, if the dns for say somehosteddomain.com was
ns1.youdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com it would resolve to your Ensim Box,

If anotherdomainhosted.com was set to ns3.yourdomain.com and ns4.yourdomain.com it would resolve to server2.

Thanks "jaredweb" for the tutorial, i checked up today and it was working and i modfied my DNS, but i have 1 thing just wana be sure about the IP Aliasing:



the Subnet Mask should be : 255.255.254.0 as it show in the picture ? or 255.255.255.0

I have found that Rackshack doesn't use the same subnet for everyone i.e. somepeople have 255.255.255.0 and some have 255.255.254.0 for their main server IP.

When you add the nameservers, you will want to use the same subnet mask that the main server IP was set to when you get the server.
