Example...

Im located in the /home/username/public_html directory I do an directory listing by typing in ls so I can see whats there. I see a directory called junk that I no longer want? so I type this in rm -rf junk and its gone forever. You somewhat have to be in the directory tree to delete a subdirectory or folder (for novice users) icon_biggrin.gif

But see your being mean, I am just what you call a newbie, anyways, I get a new error -

bash: /home/XXXXXXXXX/public_html: No such file or directory

Any help would be excellent.

Can you tell me what you are trying to remove and where its located? (dont know where its at, type this in)

locate filename (replace filename with the complete file name you are searching for, example: filename.tar.gz) and post the results here

Do you have root on both servers? If you don't, then you can't remove that from the temp directory.
