What type of cpanel lunacy gracefuls apache every 10 minutes.

The more I dig into cpanel the more scared I get . . .

Dave, can u tell us in details what happened be4 u had this errors ?

new software installed, updates, changed settings...etc.

these aren't errors afaik - but part of some type of system logging package being run from cron

you will probably get similar output from

tail -2000 /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log | grep SIGUSR1

Perfectly nromal for cPanel - there are no adverse affects.

guys, how come this is not *errors* and it's *normal* ?!!

Apache is restarting every 10 min.
this what i understood..

and that's mean any body trying to access and website on that server in that min./sec. will get error page on his explorer..

am i missing something here ?

It's a graceful restart - so clients shouldn't be affected

The cPanel developers seem to think thats its important to restart Apache every 10minutes. I have never experienced users who couldnt access their sites or control panels in between. Graceful restarts are normal. If on the other hand you are seeing lots of segfaults then look in your httpd.conf for modules such as mod_perl, mod_header, mod_gzip and comment those out. Restart apache to see if the segfault are reduced or go away completely. Graceful restarts on the other hand are normal. icon_biggrin.gif

That would just remove it from the logfile - whats the point in that?
