One thing that I've noticed on my new server, is that whenever I type the address to a directory, I have to add a trailing slash or else I won't be directed to the index.htm file. Is there any way to edit this so the last slash isn't required?

Is this a Plesk or Ensim server? On my Plesk server it works fine. This is something Apache should be set up to do automatically - I've never had to manually set it up.

This is an Ensim server (sorry, I think I put this in the wrong forum...).
