We are looking into a program that will allow point-click-done web pages and allow them to select various styles, upload pictures, add text, add a scrap book, etc.
More details will follow in early summer.

<3 HS. But I have seen many scripts on
http://php.resourceindex.com that do similar things (never tried them, not sure if they work/are secure, but they do exist).

Modernbill is awesome if you don't create reseller accounts. If you do, then you still have to create the accounts manually. Other than that, MB is really great. I prefer to manually create all my accounts anyways, that way I see more of the account so it sticks more in my head about the accounts that are on the machine(s).
Modernbill will create accounts automatically, and will interface with enom to register domain names. At this time, it will not let you manipulate the domain within modernbill ( I believe this is coming though! ). So you would have to use the default unbranded enom interface, or use something like DRAMS ( I think modernbill is integrating DRAMS into its interface ! ).
Best way to do it, is buy the cheap license, get a login to their forums ( which is absolutely HUGE, and chock full of info - The developer provides support through his forums, which is great, because it is a good way of archiving, sorta like here

) and take it for a test drive. It takes a little while to get used to, but once you figure it out, it works great.
I personally bought the 100 user license which gets put towards future license upgrades, but I believe they have a 50 user leased license for $14.95/month.
Maybe Headsurfer can work out a deal with these guys

If RS got some sort of well liked billing system, and offered it for free, or below cost (below the cost of going to the developer directly), RS would be GOLD!!

modernbill.com is great....phpmanager.com is also a less costly solution that works well (that's what I use) and then of course there is nixt.org which is free.

we use clientexec
it's a nice cheap script

Clientexec rocks. I'm looking for a point-and-click webbuilder also. I have came across a couple that looked good, but they were a little too expensive for me. Can't think of the names offhand.

PHPManager is excellent -
I have used both modernbill and phpmanager -
If your on an ensim box then the modernbill is almost needed - however phpmanager is less expensive and their new version is even taking on the look of that like modernbill and others . . .
PHPManager is worth the $

Head Surfer - I am also looking for the type of application that will allow users to "build their own sites automatically"
how soon for this - summer you say --- ?
hurry hurry hurry ----
Rackshack is getting better - - -
once we get a few of these other enhancements I think your service will be the envy of the industry

I will keep searching, I do like how modern bill integrates into the site and keeps track of all billing issues.
Thanks Ray

Im using MB and enom. I did my first enom purchase through MB yesterday. It works well together. I would say for what I do MB is 100% perfect! I love it.
I just need to find a better credit processor than 2checkout. Hate having my customers pay the bill manually each month.

I'm currently using
ModernBill. The only crticisms I have are that its multiple server support is still weak, customsing the member area to your site's own look and feel is a nightmare and the help desk/ticket system is awful.
Other top-notch programs I've come across are:
ClientExec which is still very young but I think it has a great deal of potential.
WHM AutoPilot which is superb for CPanel, but doesn't support direct interfacing with Ensim or Plesk.
Some others:
PerlBill
PHPManager
UberSmith
Dreamcost HostAdmin (support stinks!)
HostingAccelerator (Windows)
Helm (Windows)
And, I'm sure, a load more too.

Been running the tests with Modernbill and am extremely pleased thus far. Wish we could get a demo of WHM Autopilot as it looks like it could fit our needs since our servers are mainly Cpanel. Leased licensing looks like the way to go on MB though.

You do NOT want HostAdmin - here is why:
Spend 349 for it (with the program and the module for your server)
If you think the MB support is bad - HostAdmin never helps - and they do not know much about what they are doing.
I bought their program - all excited - I was going to simplify and automate! But once I bought it and spent DAYS trying to install it - I went to their forums for help. I received and found no help - but I did find lots of other customers that were not very happy!
DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!- it does no good to have a program that you cannot use!
If you buy you will see all the customers in the forums that are pleading for help - pleading for support - and living in nightmares.

just a heads up since this old thread got brought up, the new release of modernbill has enhanced support for cpanel. it can now support a server "pool" with multiple cpanel servers. i'm getting ready to test it.

Me to. Question though,
I have been back and forth on the MB site for a few days reading on it and not sure I understand something.
Does the Auto Account creation module work with the paypal module? I can use the contact link over at MB if nobody knows.

The auto creation works with or without any payment module. You can even have auto creation without any imediate payment. Or you can have the new accounts created only when payment is received.

i am using phpmngr for about the last 6 months, we are seriosly considering swithing to modernbill, we have had a whole slew of probs w/ phpm and are eagerly awaiting the new version called neomanager. We have had better luck w/ phpmngr since the original owners took back over and we hope the new version is better, but if i had to do it over from new we would go w/ MB from the getgo.

I keep watching the website for version 4.1, but the last announcement was at the end of October.

first off modernbill is a mickey mouse app. second Modern bill has the worst customer support ive ever dealt with, ask them a question? you get nothing but copy and paste replies, i never used their system and was billed for 4 months after my attempted cancelation, i then asked for a refund, and just got a copy and paste of their "how to cancel modernbill" even though i already canceled 4 months previous.
save yourself a headache, DO NOT GET MODERN BILL
