Full Version: Where could I be going wrong?

Server/hostname: xfn.crosseffect.com
Nameservers I want: ns1.crosseffect.com, ns2.crosseffect.com (207.44.243.168 and 207.44.243.169)

In /etc/resolv.conf I have:

domain xfn.crosseffect.com
search xfn.crosseffect.com
nameserver 207.44.243.168
nameserver 207.44.243.169

I have A entries setup etc, too, in WHM, and in the manage nameserver IPs section in WHM, it lists the two ips with the two nameservers next to them correctly.

I have nameservers setup for the domain crosseffect.com, I added ns1.crosseffect.com and ns2.crosseffect.com respectively with their IPs.

For the nameservers for this IP though, I have ns1.crosseffect.com and ns2.crosseffect.com, which seems odd but might be correct? Is it?

But right now, I can't ping ns1.crosseffect.com and ns2...

So what could I be doing wrong // haven't done // haven't changed // should change?

Did you add them as nameservers in the WHM setup as well?

I wish I could be more specific, been awhile since I have had Cpanel. Hopefully will have it again tonight though.

I tried that and a couple of other things. look here for what I did. I finally went.
